The Challenge: Invention of a Web Programming Language (tentatively codenamed WPL) that can replace/unify HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SQL and CGI scripts!
What is a hackathon?
A hackathon is an event spanning anywhere between a day to a week, in which volunteers participate and collaborate intensively, usually as teams, to develop a software project within the given timeframe.
What is CyberPlus Private Hackathon?
This is a hackathon organised by CyberPlus for developing a software project that will be owned and used by CyberPlus. The basic idea will be provided by CyberPlus, as opposed to what happens in an open hackathon where participants can choose to develop whatever they want.
Why should I volunteer to participate and contribute?
If you get a kick out of programming, that probably would be the reason number 1 why you would wanna attend. Add to that the fact that the mentor in the session will be none other than our managing director, Mr. Nagesh Rao! Chances are that he has taught you something in the past, or you have otherwise interacted with him technically, and you therefore know that this ain’t no technical bullshit! These 2 days of programming will hopefully give you the satisfaction of having something worthwhile accomplished in a short span of time! In return for your time, passion and commitment, we will take care of you for 2 days! We will arrange for a decent accommodation for you at the venue, and will ensure an unlimited supply of food and beverages!
What do I need to bring to the venue?
- Laptop with charger and required accessories (Internet over WiFi and power strips will be provided at the venue)
- Extra clothes and toiletries as required
What do I need to know to be able to contribute in this hackathon?
You need to have working knowledge of at least 1 of the following:
- HTML (4.01 or above)
- CSS (3.0)
- XML
- Java (1.5 or above)
- Eclipse Plugin Development
When is this event?
CyberPlus Private Hackathon #1 is scheduled from Saturday 22nd March, 2014, 10:00 AM to Sunday 23rd March, 2014, 6:00 PM.
How do I register myself for this?
